Boat trips in the Lake District

The Lake District is blessed with a substantial number of boat trips mainly on the more popular lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Ullswater. Windermere Lake Cruises operates historic steamers from Lakeside near Newby Bridge and as well as round the lake cruises you can take the boats from Bowness pier to Waterhead pier for Ambleside. Coniston has services that include dropping off points such as Brantwood (John Ruskins former residence) and of course the Steam Yacht Gondola operated by the National Trust. Ullswater has services up and down the lake operating from Pooley Bridge and has a new vessel coming into service soon.
