Description Welcome To The Crown Inn The Crown Inn previously known as The Crown Hotel is situated in the heart of the English Lake District in the centre of the picturesque village of Coniston. Only a short distance from the famous lake which Donald Campbell used for his water speed record with his jet boat Bluebird and only a short distance from the beautiful Tarn Hows. Coniston is the ideal base to visit the tremendous landscape of streams and mountains including the Coniston Old Man and surrounding Lake District. The Crown Inn is also on the path of the Cumbrian Way and welcomes all walkers. This is ideal setting offers warm, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation at a reasonable cost in both summer and winter months. Their guest accommodation has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain. Accommodation The Crown Hotel now has twelve comfortable en suite bedrooms, consisting of double, twin, family and triple. Single rooms are available at quieter times. All rooms have been completely refurbished to a very high standard, to ensure the comfort of all guests. All rooms are with bath or shower and all are centrally heated. Each have quality mattresses for a good night's sleep, coffee and tea making facilities, hair dryers, direct dial telephones and satellite television. Langdale Country Club We have membership to a local leisure centre where during your stay with us our guests can relax in the beauty salon, enjoy the views from the spa pool or take a swim in the large, heated swimming pool. Chef Clint Mackenzie takes pride in his menu with well presented food using local produce.  Choose from an extensive menu including homemade pies, Cumberland sausage on mash and onion gravy or from his own dishes which change each season.   Daily specials are where he uses his flair and imagination. Never leave without trying their ever popular sticky toffee pudding. Functions Birthdays, christenings, weddings, anniversaries... any occasion... they will help you to celebrate within a friendly, informal atmosphere. The dining room seats approximately 50 people where you can dine in privacy from a choice of menus created to suit your requirements. Live music is played in the bar on the first Friday of each month which can be an added bonus to your function at no extra cost. Alternatively, entertainment can be arranged for a small charge.
