Gale Hill cottage is located on a peaceful path right in the centre of Ambleside and is a detached one bedroom property.
Built in the middle of the nineteeenth century it has been completely refurbished to exacting standards and offers luxury accommodation to the most discerning of guests.
The cottage is a wonderful mix of old world character combined with cutting edge modern facilities to offer you a special base for your Lake District break.

As you enter the cottage you will immediately feel at home in the relaxing living room with deep leather suite, wooden beams and log burning stove set in a magnificent local slate inglenook fireplace. We believe the cottage will exceed your expectations, being equipped with CD player, iPod docks, wi-fi internet, LCD televisions with freesat HD, blu ray player, and bedroom dvd player.
The cottage is very roomy for two people and also includes: modern bathroom with bath and separate shower, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, useful cloakroom for walking gear, dining room with solid oak furniture, king-size bedroom with garden and mountain views, large secure bicycle store, private garden and patio with views across Ambleside to the mountains beyond.

Despite being a short stroll from all that Ambleside has to offer for fine dining the modern kitchen has been designed to meet the cook’s every need.
Equipped with a large fridge-freezer, fan-assisted oven, and sleek induction hob to bring out the chef in you, the kitchen is also there to help with the practicalities with the convenient and easy-to-use microwave, dishwasher, and washer-drier. Of course with the numerous great places to eat locally, you might only use the kettle and the breakfast bar in the kitchen during your stay!

Through the kitchen lies a useful cloakroom with drying facilities and space for walking gear. Additional storage is available through an external door which leads to a large secure lock-up bicycle store.
The modern fully-tiled bathroom boasts a bath and separate large and powerful shower, radiator and heated towel rail. Fluffy towels are included in your booking.
The elegant dining room hosts a solid oak dining set for two, and exceptionally well-stocked bookcases carrying books, games, dvds and local guides.

A lot of care and thought has gone into the design of the bedroom with solid oak furniture offering ample storage space.
The kingsize bed measures a huge 5’wide by 6’3” long, and with bespoke headboard and fabrics, adds an air of indulgence to an already luxurious holiday home.
Two windows add light to the room, and opening the blinds on the skylight reveals the starlit night sky. From your bed is a wonderful view of the Lake District fells.
The private and enclosed garden is accessed from the bedroom and features flowerbeds, a paved patio and a wonderful sun terrace aligned to make the most of the beautiful sunsets in this part of the Lake District. It is the perfect place to relax with a glass of wine.
The garden has all the patio furniture you will need as well as a chimenea to add warmth on chilly evenings as well as offering splendid views of Loughrigg Fell.
