This  award winning family run guest house has been in the very capable hands of resident  proprietors, Carole and Alex, since September 2004 and it is particularly noted for its  comfort, cleanliness, friendliness and excellent hearty breakfast. The house has seven guest bedrooms (some with views of Elleray Gardens), four of which have en suite facilities whilst the others each  have private bathrooms. The amenities include  central heating, DVD/TV/radio; hairdryer, robes and hospitality tray. In house facilities include a comfortable TV lounge with residents bar, where a selection of bottled and canned beers can be purchased and a separate dining room.    Breakfast at Green Gables is definitely something to look forward to. Carole and Alex strive to provide a varied choice of healthy food using, as far as possible, fresh locally sourced ingredients. There’s a wide variety that includes full English and vegetarian breakfasts. The buffet offers grapefruit, a range of cereals, yoghurt, muesli and a good selection of fruit juices.  If you have any special dietary requirements, just give advance notice and they will do their best to accommodate your needs. Green Gables rests comfortably in a pleasant position facing Elleray Gardens, a local park, and is just a short stroll from the centre of Windermere with its many specialist shops, pubs and restaurants. Local facilities include opportunities for a variety of activities from cinema to climbing, steam railways to crazy golf, plus many miles of walking the beautiful Lake District.
