Guided Walks

If you'd like to attempt some of the classic fell walks of the Lake District or even some easier walks, but don't have the skills and confidence to do them on your own, why not try a guided walk.

As you'd expect there a number of organisations run by local people who provide programmes of guided walks for a fee.

There are plenty of low level walks to suit all ability and fitness levels but if you want something a little more challenging yet are not prepared to venture out on your own you can join a guided walk.
The are many half to one day guided walks available.

Not only can you visit the fells and take in the views that visitors to the lakes clamour for, but you can do so safe in the knowlege that your guide will be qualified, have a first aid certificate (usually) and local knowlege.

Fell walking is more about the journey, than just summiting a peak (although that's often where the best views are to be had, weather permitting), and your guide will often point out places of interest, flora, fauna, and geological features along the way, as well as things of historical interest.

Suitable footwear and clothing is required, as is an appropriate fitness level for the walk being undertaken.
