A great place for a picnic, or for fishing.

discover the lakes visit report June 2009
I have to confess it is many years since I walked up to High Dam and had therefore forgotten that its a bit more of a hike than I remember!
It is however well worth the walk. The dam is really beautiful in the late afternoon sunshine & other than a couple of other people we had the place to ourselves.
Afterwards it is but a short drive to the Swan Hotel in Newby bridge where refreshment can be found.
