Description Jerichos is owned and run by Jo and Chris Blaydes Chef-Proprietor, formerly Head Chef at Miller Howe for celebrated chef John Tovey. During this time Chris gathered a wealth of experience from TV work to cookery demonstrations countrywide with Delia Smith and John Tovey. In 1997 Jo and Chris opened Jerichos Restaurant Windermere, where over a ten year period they built up a very successful and renowned restaurant which is highly rated in all the independent food guides. Situated on a quiet road in the centre of Windermere Village, with a large private car park, Jerichos is an ideal place from which to explore and enjoy the area. A warm welcome awaits you. Having acquired The Waverley on College Road, a relocation has now taken Jerichos into a new era to become a Restaurant with rooms. Jerichos has been modernised and updated giving it a contemporary feel and atmospheric buzz, which appeals to all ages. The Waverley, circa 1870, is a magnificent Victorian property which retains many original features. All the rooms have a light, airy feel and the cosy lounge is a relaxing place to enjoy a drink from our bar, or simply to "chill out". Dining Chef Proprietor Chris Blaydes, Master Chef of Great Britain, has continued to maintain a standard of cooking that has been consistently highly rated in The Good Food Guide, Harden's and the Michelin Guide. Jerichos has again been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence. Chris' cooking is as creative and confident as ever with the spotlight on simplicity and flavour to make the very best of quality local and seasonal produce. The menu comes sensibly compact and as such is frequently changed. Jerichos is an established, busy restaurant with a large following of food enthusiasts. To avoid disappointment advanced booking is essential, particularly for a special occasion. Rooms All the bedrooms now have modern ensuites and are furnished to the same high standard throughout. The contemporary and stylish decor marries well with the original features and the rooms have a light and airy feel. Some rooms have views of the fells. All rooms are situated on the first or second floors therefore, when booking, if a first floor room is required please request at the time of booking as there is no lift. All rooms are furnished with flatscreen TV, alarm clock/radio with iPod docking, hospitality tray and hairdryer. We have a secure cellar which can hold a small number of bicycles/golf clubs etc. and a drying room for any wet weather gear. Wireless broadband Internet access is available for guests. If you have any special dietary requests please advise before arrival to ensure that your needs are met, as far as we are able. Discover The Lakes knows Jerichos very well having eaten in the restaurant a number of times. The food, service and ambiance are first class. Owner Chris likes to call Jerichos a restaurant with rooms putting the emphasis on dining (he is a master chef after all) but the rooms are every bit as good as the food, bright and contemporary but without losing the character of the building.
