The new Laurel and Hardy statue will be unveiled by Ken Dodd in Stans birthplace of Ulverston on April 19th 2009.

The Laurel and Hardy staue has been sculpted by Graham Ibbeson, the man who imortalised Eric Morecambe in Morecambe. Donated to Ulverston town council by the Sons of The Desert, the larger than life size bronze features Stan laurel and Oliver Hardy accompanied by the little dog "Laughing Gravy".
