Description Alison and Wayne would like to thank you for looking at their guest house in Windermere. Laurel Cottage Windermere is a beautiful Victorian guest house set in its own gardens in a quiet area of Windermere. Built in the 1890s out of local stone it has retained all of its character and charm. The Bed and Breakfast has views to the front across Queens Park and School Knott and to the rear of Coniston Old Man, Wetherlam, Swirl How and Langdales yet is only a few minutes walk to Windermere village centre or a short stroll to the lake. Windermere is a great base from which to see the rest of the Lake District, whether it's a walking or cycling holiday you're after or just visiting to enjoy its beauty. If you're cycling we can secure your bikes for you. The scenic back drop around Windermere makes it an ideal location for weddings; we are conveniently situated within easy reach of the many popular venues. Windermere has great restaurants and bars in the area to suit all tastes and budgets ranging from those providing local cuisine to the more international choice. If you're arriving by train at Windermere station let us know and if we are available we will pick you up. Accommodation   There are 5 double bedrooms available, all with en suite facilities plus flat screen television, DVD player, wireless broadband, hairdryer, radio alarm clock/ ipod/mp3 player Hospitality tray and toiletries from a local company called Pure Lakes who produce Hand Made Perfumes and Natural Bath and body care Products. Superior rooms have mini coolers and sofas. Family room and twin available upon request. Breakfast Start the day with a traditional and hearty full English breakfast or for those that prefer something a little lighter we offer seasonal fruits, yogurts, cheeses, cereals or a continental breakfast. Tea, coffee, toast and preserves are in plentiful supply. Our Tea and Coffee is from” Farrers Tea and Coffee merchants” in Kendal who only use Ethically sourced produce. Our Jams are homemade by Sarah M and the fruits are seasonal and grown locally. Our Marmalade is also home made. There is also homemade Tea bread to try. The breakfast is freshly cooked to order using locally sourced produce. Including free range eggs from Bannerigg farm and sausage and bacon from our local butcher. We also cater for vegetarians. Laurel cottage welcomes Families, walkers, cyclists and well behaved Dogs (Pets) to our Lake District Guest house. Please contact us before booking if you should wish to bring your bikes or your Dog. We are pet friendly here and have even had a Rabbit and a Hamster come to stay with us Ideally located close to the shops and restaurants in Windermere village yet on a peaceful road. We have met the owners Wayne and Alison and found them most hospitable.
