Description

Millbeck Farm nestles beneath the famous Langdale Pikes in the Great Langdale valley. It is a 250 acre working hill farm owned by the National Trust and run by Eric & Sue Taylforth.
It is surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District and an ideal base from which to enjoy walking, climbing or touring.
Side House has charming self catering accommodation which is offered in two very well equipped cottages.
Two charming properties together near the head of the Great Langdale Valley in the heart of the most spectacular mountain scenery in Central Lakeland.
Side House Farm and Cottage can be occupied as two seperate properties (one sleeps 6 and the other sleeps 3) or taken together for a larger party.

Formerly part of the dairy attached to the original old farmhouse the cottage sleeps 3 in One Double and One Single Room and has its own entrance to the side of the farm..

There is a pretty shower room with basin and toilet. The cosy lounge has oak beams and open fire.
The kitchen is fitted out in natural woods and is fully equipped.The Cottage has it's own entrance at the side of the farm where there are fine views to the head of Langdale and the majestic Bow Fell and Crinkle Craggs. The whole cottage has a cosy feel with lots of character retained in this pretty old building.

Both properties enjoy the facilities of:
- Duvets with bed linen provided with beds made up and towels for arrival - Electric cooker and slow cooker - Microwave - Fridge & Freezer - Auto Washer/Dryer
 - Dishwasher - Radio/CD players, TV, Video and DVD - Oil fired central heating (oil included) - Electricity by meter reading - Cot/High chair available - Open fire (fuel included)

What can we say about location? The cottage is attached to the farmhouse which is also a holiday cottage and is reached along a track just across from the New Dungeon Ghyll with its Walkers Bar and also the Sticklebarn. We were there during the lambing season and it is an oasis of peace and quiet surrounded by mountains and fields.
