 Park Lodge has its own entrance, with windows having a lovely outlook towards Claife Heights and Sheriff’s Walk Woods. Both villages of Bowness and Windermere are a short stroll away with restaurants, wine bars, pubs, shops, supermarkets and stylish boutiques as well as art galleries, theatres, cinemas and museums.
Holiday activities include canoeing, sailing, cycling, climbing, fell walking, painting or a leisurely stroll along Lake Windermere. Any trip to the Lakes is not complete without a cruise on Lake Windermere. The apartment at Park Lodge is only a ten minute walk from the steamer piers in Bowness. There are many visitor attractions nearby for instance the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Brockhole Visitor Centre, Windermere Marina, cruises on Lake Windermere, and the Lakes Aquarium, which is to be found at Lakeside at Newby Bridge.
Historic houses and gardens abound in this fascinating area with Blackwell, Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall to name but a few. One of Great Britain’s best loved poets, William Wordsworth, was inspired by the beautiful scenery to write his poetry, and the William Wordsworth Museum can be found by his former home at Dove Cottage in the nearby village of Grasmere. John Ruskin’s home, Brantwood, and museum are both by Lake Coniston, a short journey from the apartment.
Windermere and Oxenholme railway stations are both close by and open top buses stop very near to the apartment. Shops, wine bars, restaurants and art galleries are all 350 yards.
