Patterdale village

Patterdale

Patterdale lies just south of Ullswater and a further mile south of Glenridding on the A592. at the foot of Grizedale.
Like every Lake District village worth its salt it has a pub The White Lion which offers a friendly welcome and accommodation, plus a hotel, The Patterdale Hotel where all 61 bedrooms have been recently refurbished and some have spectacular views.

Other amenities include a church and a post office doubling as a village shop.

Near to the village is Patterdale Hall a Victorian mansion which is now an outdoor education centre.

Patterdale is in the heart of the walking territory and is an excellent base for visitors who want to get some lake district air in their lungs!
At a gentler pace Glenridding home to the Ullswater steamers is a short drive or indeed walk away.
The Patterdale road is part of a Discover the Lakes favourite scenic drive which ends at the top of the Kirkstone Pass in the Kirkstone Pass Inn for a quick libation.
