Our Lake District Hotel in the market town of Kendal

This dramatic property on the River Kent dates back to 1626 and was home to renowned makers of leather for 250 years.
Today our newly modernised 48 bedroom hotel offers you the ideal blend of comfort and convenience, right in the heart of Kendal. Use us as a base to explore the Lakes or indulge
yourself in our choice of restaurants, our bar overlooking the river and our superb new state of the art leisure facilities.
However you choose to spend your time with us you can be sure of great service and a friendly greeting.
The hotel has an undercover carpark for 40 cars adjacent to the hotel and a further 60 places at the railway station just around the corner.

The hotel has 48 en-suite bedrooms plus two suites. All the bedrooms present a high level of comfort and facilities include hospitality tray, freeview television, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and ironing facilities.
For that special occasion we have the magnificent Bellingham suite. We have several spacious family rooms and dogs are also welcome (at no extra charge).
We are delighted to welcome wedding parties and other private functions in our air-conditioned Ballroom which caters for up to 300 guests.

For conference and corporate events, we can provide a wide range of suites.

We have a state of the art leisure club The Sanctuary and Hotel guests can enjoy unlimited use of the facilities during their stay while our team of expert instructors are always on-hand to help and advise.

Dining at the Riverside Hotel is a real pleasure. Our menu changes daily and offers a wide choice, using locally grown fresh produce whenever possible, much of it from our own Victorian kitchen garden. We offer special menus for vegetarians and children.
Hi-Life Diners Club Cards are welcome in our Riverview Restaurant and entitle the holder to a "2 for 1" discount on a 3 course Table d'hote meal.
Homegrown produce
We have our own kitchen garden, which supplies as much quality fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs as we can, all grown using organic principles.
We rear our own free range Middle White Pork and Herdwick Lamb and take great care over our suppliers.
Cumbria is world famous for it's beef and lamb, reared in our lush green hills. Our suppliers offer complete traceability and give a guarantee of flavour and tenderness.

Discover the lakes really likes the Riverside, set right by the river and a short stroll into the shopping area of Kendal it offers professional friendly service and a high standard of accommodation.
The Spa is excellent and in our opinion the hotel rates offer great value for money. The hotel is child and pet friendly and Kendal is an ideal base to explore the Lakes. Highly recommended.
