Accommodation
All bedrooms offer great ensuite facilities with ethical toiletries, hair dyer, ten-channel flat screen TV, free internet access, complimentary welcome tray including a wide variety of hot beverages and mineral water, luxurious bathrobes and slippers.
Many of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, one is fully accessible and DDA-compliant, and half of the rooms have superb six-foot wide King Size beds (with the remainder having luxurious five-foot Queen Size beds).
Loft Suites
The five Loft Suites are named after the stunning fells they overlook, and are called Helm Crag, Stone Arthur, Silver Howe, Loughrigg and Butter Crag.
In addition to the bedroom facilities which are offered throughout the hotel, our suites also enjoy the latest in guest comforts, with original beams, seating areas, designer bathrooms with separate bath and walk-in shower, two flat screen TVs, air conditioning and even binoculars for studying the beautiful fells surrounding Grasmere!
Dining at Rothay Garden
Unlike a traditional hotel restaurant, the two-rosette Conservatory Restaurant at Rothay Garden is an attraction in its own right, with its contemporary furniture, clean elegant lines and great views overlooking the hotel's two acres of gardens.
The hotel's kitchens are managed by Head Chef Andrew Burton, who has been at the hotel with Chris Carss for 17 years and is one of only 300 Masterchefs of Great Britain.With experience gained at Gleneagles in Scotland, and the Berkeley, Connaught and Savoy in London, Andrew and his talented team maintain Rothay Garden's excellent reputation for quality food, professional service and great value.
Dishes are prepared using the freshest of regionally sourced produce, and Andrew is proud of his unrivalled network of dependable and reliable local suppliers.
Many of the hotel's guests return two or three times a year and, for most of them, the Rothay Garden's hearty Lakeland breakfasts, superb gourmet dinners and fine collection of wines are great attractions.
During your stay, you will enjoy dining from our Seasonal Menu, which features a great selection of five starters, main courses and desserts. Two dishes of each course being changed daily to take advantage of the best fresh market produce available day by day.
