Description

The Windermere marathon is organised by the people at Brathay Hall and is run in conjunction with their open day. Entry to the open day costs £5 per car.

The most scenic marathon in the UK, covering a distance of 26.2 miles. Starting and finishing at Brathay Hall, the marathon takes a anticlockwise route around the lake via Hawkshead, Newby Bridge, Bowness on Windermere and Ambleside.

The closing date for entries is Saturday 10th May 2008
The Marathon starts at 10.30 am on Sunday 18th may 2008
Entry cost is £32 including car parking and entry to the open day (a £2 discount applies to athletics club members)
Minimum age limit: you must be aged 18 or over on 18th May 2008.

For younger runners in the 14 - 18 age group, there is a 5k race that runs alongside the marathon starting at 10.45 am.
