Customer Comments:
just wanted to let you know what a lovely meal we had on saturday night. The food was lovely and there was such a nice atmosphere. Thank you

How can you improve on perfection?
The meals were well presented, tempting and a delight to the palate. ALL the flavours complimented each other but not one overpowered the dish which made
a perfect combination. The ambience suited the building and the staff were very pleasant and approachable. Service was fantastic and the beers kept
even better!!! Wished we didn't have to return to Stourport-on-Severn, we'll be back though. Thank you for such a memorable experience that will stay
with us in  our hearts and memory for many years

It was so nice to enter a multi-roomed pub with most of the internal walls still intact. Five handpumps, one for cider, and one with Locale badge which we went for.
The Ulverston Brewery "Lonesome Pine" was in tip-top condition and totally moreish.
Lunch baguettes very good and landlord had good mix of service and information to offer.
Our conclusion: surely this pub must be a very strong contender for Cumbria's Pub of the Year?
Cannot imagine anywhere better in that area or in West Cumbria!!

We visited the Engine today 6/10/2010 in the delightful village of Cark In Cartmel and were made extremely welcome by Chris and Karen.
A warm friendly atmosphere was found with customers enjoying both the fine ales and food.
The Engine is ideally placed for exploring the South Lakes and if you book well ahead it is an ideal base for Cartmel Races.
Your hosts are well established here both with locals and the many repeat visitors, and we would have no hesitation in recommending this excellent establishment.
