Theatres in the Lake District

Culture I hear you cry! We came to the Lakes to climb mountains, see the ospreys and sail a yacht on Windermere!

Well maybe so but what are you going to do in the evening when the roaring log fire begins to pall ? or another Cumbrian evening meal will tip you over the edge?

The Discover The Lakes theatre guide will give you an idea as to the theatrical delights on offer in the Lake District.

Our theatres tend to be smaller than in the cities which lends them to a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere and we do get touring companies of repute, in fact going back some time South Cumbria hosted the Royal Shakespeare Company for a summer production.
