Thornleigh, established in 1973 by HIGHWAY TRUST as a guest house for Christian outreach, is said to be "One of the top Christian hotels in the country!" Situated in a lovely location in the heart of Grange-over-Sands, overlooking Morecambe Bay, the hotel has built up a reputation for the quality of its catering and service.You will find there an enthusiastic management and professional staff, eager to look after your every need. Matters are arranged in the finest detail for your complete satisfaction.
PUBLIC AREAS OF THE HOTEL
Bay View Lounge and Drawing Room, both with digital television (Freeview) and video / dvd, which may be used as one large Conference Room, small Chapel for times of prayer and preparation, Dining Room with adjoining Conservatory.
ALL BEDROOMS ARE EN SUITE with bath and/or shower, and a toilet. A selection of the larger bedrooms, at the front of the hotel, of which there are six, have lovely panoramic views across Morecambe Bay.
We call these BAY VIEW BEDROOMS and we have given them the name of one of the rivers which flow into the Bay - for example, Lune, Kent and Winster.
The furnishings are upgraded, with one bedroom having a four-poster bed and another the luxury of a king-size bed and a large corner bath! All these bedrooms have remote-controlled digital televisions (with Freeview) and, as with all bedrooms, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities.
THORNLEIGH LODGE
This accommodation is designed as study-suites but it is also available, when required, as guest bedrooms. Thornleigh Lodge, located immediately to the rear of Thornleigh Hotel, has direct access from the hotel's car park. The suites are identified with the names of four of the District's lovely lakes - Windermere, Ullswater, Coniston and Grasmere. Each has a private bath and/or shower room with toilet. In addition, the bedrooms have a remote-control digital television (with Freeview), writing desk and chair, plus a comfortable settee or lounge chairs.

No Single room supplement at Thornleigh. EXCEPT when a double / twin-bedded room is used for single occupancy, at the General Manager's discretion (usually when all single bedrooms have been booked), when the supplement is £10 per night.
Reduced Tariff for Children and Young People.
If sharing with parent(s): Under 5 yrs, FREE; 5-11, 25%; 12-16, 50% (or 70% if in own bedroom); student age 16+ in full-time education, 75%.

Short stays of one or two nights will incur a supplement of £5 per person, per night.
Grange-over-Sands is approximately 20 minutes by road from exit 36 on the M6, following the A590 and B5277.

By train: Change at Lancaster from London and the south, and from Scotland, to Grange-over-Sands. There is a direct rail-link from Manchester International Airport, Manchester Piccadilly and Oxford Road stations.
The Hotel is ? mile from the railway station. There is an uphill walk through the town, but taxis are usually available at the station.
The Thornleigh offers a warm friendly and welcoming atmosphere and is highly recommended. Discover the Lakes likes the fact that it is spacious and has panoramic views of Morecambe Bay but is also well situated for exploring the Lakes and the Furness peninsula.
