Description Welcome to Tranquility at Labbay Gold and silver awards are given to hotels and guest accommodation that provide exceptional quality in all areas but in particular in service and hospitality. Tranquility At Labbay Is a new contemporary Boutique Style country guest house that resides in the three valleys of Underbarrow, Crosthwaite, and Lyth. A unique destination for the discerning guest who wishes to relax, chill out and enjoy those special times away from it all. A very warm welcome is assured to all our guests with an experience to treasure always. Tranquility is assured with uninterrupted views to the West, North and South. Our Lounge faces west with a  panoramic bay window it reveals Cartmel Fell, Lyth, Valley, then north to Langdales, Kentmere and finally south towards Morecambe Bay and Whitbarrow. For reviews, prices and availability click here Reception rooms: the entrance hall is decorated in a modern contemporary style with pastel colours, the occasional antique, ash flooring and rugs, a beautiful ash stair case and minstrel gallery. Our lounge has a 6-metre panoramic bay window which simply take your breath away, offering views to the north south and west. A large open log fire is positioned at one end, whilst the other end hosts a mirror drinks cabinet. The guest lounge is a perfect place to watch the sun set over the valley or to take breakfast in the ambience of one of those special days. The guest llounge leads on to a large sun terrace which is ideal for alfresco breakfast, weather permitting, on those lazy hazy days of summer one can sit enjoy a drink and watch the sun set magnificently over the distant fells. The terrace leads down to the lawn and the pond area with its very own water well beyond the garden is simply open country side with many relaxing not taxing walks or strolls, possibly to the local pub ! Accommodation All our suites take their names from the surrounding villages with in the valley. Bedrooms: are large en suite bed rooms. Both on the ground floor and up stairs all with breathtaking views. The Cartmel room has a unique egg bath situated in the bedroom plus a walk-in en suite shower room individually designed with beautiful linen to create a modern contemporary feel. There is a choice of king-size 4-posters, Sleigh and French bed. All have flat-screen TV, tea & coffee facilities and bottled water. The spacious bathrooms with heated floors, and soft background music displaying large baths with a choice of separate walk-in showers to include steam shower, body wash with rain showers. Luxurious robes and soft towels accompanied by an array of organic toiletries to pamper one self at the end of a perfect day and the start of a wonderful evening. The Cartmel Suite Situated on the upper floor facing due west with the scenic splendor of Cartmel fell. Boasting a freestanding white egg bath on a black plinth backed by a full walled mirror situated in the actual room further complimented with a Flagstone king size bed and matching furniture, enhanced by deluxe bedding towels and robes, a large flat screen Sony T V and hospitality tray A separate en suite hosts a remote radio large walk in shower a contempory designer hand basin  and fittings,  organic toiletries  to ease the stress of modern life, split tiled in black and white porcelain with under floor heating and a full length mirrored radiator. Brigsteer Suite Located on the ground floor with easy access door this themed suite has a distinctive French feel the furniture is chateau with a king size linen bed and matching furniture throughout. Deluxe bedding bath robes and towels, hospitality tray and wall mounted flat screen T.V. add to the overall finish. The views are over the garden and pond furthering north over open country side towards Kentmere.The en suite has straight line boutique porcelain furnishings, chrome fittings a large walk in rain shower, split tiling in coffee and cream with chrome radiator, halogen lighting, under floor heating, remote music, and  organic toiletries all for that intimate warm feeling. Crosthwaite Suite Situated on the ground floor with easy access door, Crosthwaite has a mix of traditional and contempory, it features a large king size leather sleigh bed which  plays host to beautifully hand crafted solid oak furniture, deluxe bedding, bath robes, towels, Sony flat screen T.V. and hospitality tray ensuring the best of home comforts. The double aspect window to the north gives views towards The Langdales and Kentmere whilst the easterly view looks to the bubbling water fall. The adjoining en suite is very large with his and hers matching designer wash bowls mounted on local hand polished slate with individual designer taps, made complete with a large double bath and matching fittings. The porcelain wall tiles and slate floor tiles are enhanced by natural and halogen lighting under floor heating adds to the feel. A special feature is a multi shower which incorporates body wash system, steam control for a sauna, rain or power shower foot spa, internal stool and remote music, finally organic toiletries to pamper yourselves with. Lyth Suite Situated on the upper floor it faces north with distant views of Wetherlam as well as the pond and its inhabitants. A king size bed host an unusual antique style head board with bespoke bedside cabinets and boutique fitted wardrobe, deluxe bedding, robes and towels plus a flat screen T.V. and hospitality tray. The adjoining en suite bathroom has stunning views of its' own with pastel coloured tiles, remote radio, a generous corner shower, large free standing roll top bath, designer wash bowl and fittings, under floor heating complimented with organic toiletries which helps creates a tranquil experience morning or evening. Winster Suite Situated at  the east end of the house it features a double aspect window with views to both north and east, Underbarrow lime stone scar with its many walks and view places, whilst to the north one looks to open country side with the Kentmere valley in the distance. A modern designer King size iron four poster adorns with matching bed sides, a luxurious sofa, Portofino dresser and chest of drawers, deluxe bedding robes and towels, adding to the overall effect is a large flat screen Sony TV and hospitality tray. The internal bathroom is quite large, tiled in the latest marble, with natural lighting, remote radio, large corner body wash shower, double bath, square wash basin, matching fittings and organic toiletries for the extra luxury. For reviews, prices and availability click here How to find Tranquility Quickest route:- From jct 36 M6 follow A590/591 to South Kendal exit, follow general signs to Kendal. Go straight through first set of traffic lights, Kendal College, on to one way system to the first set of lights at a pedestrian crossing. Take the next turning left, Gillinggate, go up the hill to left turn signed for Brigsteer follow country road for 3 miles and you will pass the Wheatsheaf pub on left. Stop here for pre-arranged meet and greet or continue 1 mile to unmarked country lane on right, follow lane to second house on left. Scenic route:- Take jct 36 off the M6, head towards Kendal on the A591. Take the first exit off the A591 towards Barrow. At the roundabout take the first exit towards Barrow on the A590, after approx 1 mile turn right towards Bowness and Windermere onto the A5074. After approx 2 miles, take the hairpin right turn into Crosthwaite village, go straight through the village to Underbarrow and take the first right at the T junction turn right again then take first left onto single track lane then left again at the end. Follow the road to the second house on the left. We also have a meet and greet facility, please call ahead and we will meet you at a pre-arranged location.
