Description Welcome to Wilf's Cafe Much more than just a Café!  Buffets, Weddings, Outside catering, Wilf's Away' and Venue for hire for all occasions. Our Cafe in Staveley provides good food in a tranquil, riverside setting with decking overlooking the River Kent, as well as plenty of room inside for when the weather is less kind. The Café is also available to hire. Have you a function that you would just like to leave the catering to someone else?.... We deliver, FREE, within a 15 mile radius of Staveley and have a range of Buffet menu's for you to choose from. We are also linked to Hawkshead Beer Hall for a drink to go with your Café meal in the daytime or a great party venue in the evening independently or together. We are involved with many local activities - Staveley Carnival, Apple Day, Le Tour de Staveley and others. About The Cafe The Cafe provides good food in a tranquil, riverside setting with a terrace over looking the River Kent, as well as plenty of room inside for when the weather is less kind. We are happy to cater for families, we have baby changing facilities, we can provide high chairs and we have a children's area upstairs with a collection of toys to keep little ones happy, although you will still need to keep an eye on them There is also a 'child & baby' free sofa area! Wilfs is pet friendly! We are open : Winter (GMT) -  9am - 5pm 7 days a week Summer - Weekdays 9am - 5pm Weekends 8.30am - 5pm Closing for a week over Christmas but open for New Year. Our menu has something for everyone, and we pride ourselves on a fast, friendly service. Speciality nights Come and enjoy an evening out with us. We hold Speciality food themed evenings at intervals throughout the year. They are all Fridays and are usually very popular so booking is essential but its always worth checking out late availability. Cost is £20.40 for 3 courses plus coffee.. See our speciality evenings HERE Slide & supper evenings Slide & Supper evenings usually cover a wide range of subjects mostly with an Outdoor theme appealing to the Outdoor activist & armchair enthusiast. Tickets cost £7.20 for the evening. Booking is recommended, tickets must be paid for at the time of booking. The evening starts promptly at 7.30pm with the slide show followed by a light supper such as lasagne, cottage pie etc. always with a Veggie option. You may bring your own alcoholic beverage but tea and coffee will be served with the meal and our usual cakes are available to buy! See our slide and supper evenings HERE Private Functions The café is available for hire in the evening from 7pm and has been used for a variety of purposes from celebratory parties, sit down dinners to slide shows. We hope the following will help you choose a meal for your evening. The minimum charge for Café hire is £400  (for departure by Midnight) with food costs starting at £6.10 per person. As we have no licence you are welcome to bring your own alcohol. Outside Catering We have carefully thought out Wilf’s Buffet Menus to give a balance that caters for a variety of diets and is visually (and actually! ) very appetising!. However they are only suggestions and can be tailored to fit in with your ideas, a particular favourite dish or just to meet your budget or dietary requirements. We will set up the buffet on a suitable table or surface covered if necessary, with a paper banqueting cloth. The price includes tasteful disposable crockery, robust plastic cutlery, serviettes, setting up, washing up of dishes supplied by Wilf’s. and removal of the buffet at a mutually convenient time. Please feel free to discuss your buffet requirements with us with no obligation. Further information & menu's can be found on our website. We are delighted that Wilf's Cafe have chosen to be on Discover The Lakes as we are always happy to eat there and have a pint in the Hawkshead Brewery afterwards! There is much competition to get the lovely table on the patio at the back overlooking the mill race. The Big Meaty Breakfast is a winner and the staff are really great people. Staveley Mill Yard is a good place to spend some time with all sorts of businesses to see.If you are staying close by its a "must visit", if you are further away it is still a "must visit".If you go to Wilf's tell them you found them on Discover The Lakes, I doubt you will get a discount but you may well get a smile!
