Much has been written lately in the travel press about holidays in yurts pods and tipis and they have certainly been very popular this season.
For those wondering what a Yurt is (like us) it is a central asian nomadic dwelling round in structure with a wooden frame.In other words a big round tent!
The great thing about the yurt is the level of comfort.You won't be needing a groundsheet or sleeping bag! This is luxury boutique camping at its best.
The Tipi or for those of us in our dotage a wigwam is the native american tent and you can get close to nature with one of these.
Pods are a new innovation to the Lake District and are another alternative to camping in a tent for those who don't want the faff of carrying bundles of equipment around with them.
