Dodgson Wood Campsite is set within secluded ancient woodland, close to the shore of Coniston Water. Rented exclusively, you can enjoy the peace and tranquility this beautiful place has to offer with just your group of friends or family.
The site is let as a whole, taking up to twenty five people and is ideal for large families and outdoor education groups. Only six vehicles can have access to the site to minimize erosion and wildlife disruption. A track runs through the site which is used only by us to access the land above and occasionally bring sheep and cattle to and from the fells, otherwise the site is your own.
The campsite has been formed in a natural clearing on the fringe of the nationally important Dodgson Wood SSSI, therefore it is being managed with conservation and minimal impact in mind. To reinforce this no wood can be collected from the site, but if you want a campfire, wood is supplied by us. Composting toilets are on site and there are cold water taps. A mess tent is provided for you to cook, eat or socialise undercover.
