Right in the heart of Windermere village and handily placed for the train station The Lamplighter is a fabulous restaurant with rooms (recently refurbished). It has been in the same family ownership for nearly 30 years and is an excellent choice in our opinion.
Dining can be either in the well stocked bar, the restaurant or if you can brave the elements out on the terrace.
As you would expect the emphasis is on local food suppliers and quality is key to everything in the kitchen. Speciality evenings include a curry night and a seafood night.
With all of the guests bedrooms recently refurbished, the Tasker family have been careful to harmonise to the Victorian heritage of this traditional Lakeland stone building which dates back to 1865 and the coming of the railways to Lakeland.
With private parking on site and free wi-fi access throughout the ground floor, The Lamplighter offers the perfect location from which to explore the beautiful Lake District.
